I’m a multimedia content creator, photographer, and passionate birder whose work spans the intersection of wildlife, travel, and digital storytelling. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, USA, I am based primarily in Costa Rica since 2011. 

Digital Media & Content Creation

My journey in digital media began in 2009 as the social media manager for the now-defunct EpicSki forum. When EpicSki shuttered after its technology provider was acquired in an acquisition, and the IP was bought up by Vail Resorts, I had been working as the managing editor. Despite now living in the tropics, it allowed me to keep connected to my childhood love of skiing by way of the interviews I conducted and articles I authored, edited, and curated. Since 2017, I’ve been a freelance multimedia consultant, creating content for educational companies and organizations worldwide.

Birding & Wildlife Photography

My passion for birding extends far beyond content creation. It started as a pandemic-driven focus on photographing wildlife when I couldn’t travel, but I eventually found myself going out with just my binoculars and not my camera! Birding is always an important consideration in my travels and photography. It often takes me to off-the-beaten-track locations.

I have written a few articles for the Birds of the World project, collaborated on the Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s hummingbird course, reviewed the text or contributed images for several books, and authored the introduction to The Endemic Birds of Costa Rica. Besides my own content here on my website, I also manage the digital communications for the New Jersey-based Wild Bird Research Group. 

Photography & Visual Storytelling

I primarily focus on capturing the beauty and complexity of the natural world, from intimate bird portraits to sweeping landscapes. My photography work supports conservation messaging and helps audiences connect emotionally with wildlife and wild places.

Whether documenting rare species behavior, capturing the golden hour light on a remote landscape, or creating content that inspires others to appreciate nature, my work focuses on storytelling that makes the natural world accessible and compelling to diverse audiences.
